Key Bellevilles, Inc. Engineering

Key Bellevilles disc springs have design standards based on DIN 2092 specifications and are manufactured to DIN 2093 specifications.

Disc springs in various combinations offer a variety of benefits, particularly the following:

1) Long service life.
2) Largely self damping, especially with parallel stacking.
3) No setting or fatigue under normal loads and stresses.
4) Efficient use of space.
5) High spring forces with small deflections (low spring height).
6) Load / deflection curves of regressive, progressive or straight
character according to design requirements can be achieved
by stacking in various combinations.
7) Simple adjustment of stack spring length by the addition or removal
of individual disc or through the use of shims, thus altering the
spring stack characteristics.
8) Large range of applications are possible for individual spring sizes.

Our staff is always ready to assist or advise designers in the planning and calculation of disc springs. We have programmed our computer with all equations necessary for rapid calculations. In such cases, we desire the following data in addition to details of applications.

Installation Space: Desired inside and outside diameters, internal or external guide and guide diameter, and uncompressed and preloaded installation height.

Spring Data: Preload force and deflection, final load and deflection, or working stroke (final deflection minus preload deflection), type of load (dynamic or static), load changes and number load cycles required, operating temperature, desired service life and any factors (such as environmental) affecting design.
